The Nigerian Naira is expected to maintain its recent gains against the United States Dollar through the coming week, supported by increased foreign exchange inflows.

On Thursday, February 19, the Naira was quoted at N1,344 to the dollar on the official market, a notable improvement from the N1,357 recorded just one week prior. In the parallel market, the currency was exchanged at approximately N1,385.

Financial analysts attribute this relative stability to the Central Bank of Nigeria's consistent dollar sales to Bureau De Change (BDC) operators. These interventions have successfully narrowed the spread between official and street trading rates, providing a much-needed reprieve for businesses and consumers.

Reader Question:

Have you noticed a stabilization in the prices of goods following the recent gains of the Naira, or is the impact yet to be felt in your local market?
