The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially released its timetable for the 2027 general election primaries, outlining key activities, deadlines, and the cost of nomination and expression of interest forms, with the party’s presidential ticket fixed at a total of ₦100 million.
The timetable, made public in Abuja on Monday, April 20, 2026, begins with the issuance of a formal notice of election to APC state chapters on the same day.
According to the schedule, the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms will run from Saturday, April 25 to Saturday, May 2, 2026. Aspirants are expected to submit completed forms and relevant documents on or before Monday, May 4, 2026.
The document, signed by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, also states that screening of aspirants for all elective positions—including State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship, and the presidency—will take place between Wednesday, May 6 and Friday, May 8, 2026.
Screening results are expected to be published on Saturday, May 9, while appeals by dissatisfied aspirants will be received from Monday, May 11 to Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
The party’s primaries have been arranged in stages, beginning with the presidential primary scheduled for Friday, May 15 to Saturday, May 16, 2026. The House of Representatives primary will follow on Monday, May 18, while the Senate primary is slated for Wednesday, May 20. State House of Assembly primaries will hold on Thursday, May 21, with governorship primaries fixed for Saturday, May 23, 2026.
The timetable also provides for post-primary appeals. Presidential primary appeals will hold on Monday, May 18, while appeals for other categories—House of Representatives, Senate, State Assembly, and governorship—will take place between May 20 and May 25, 2026.
The APC further disclosed the cost of nomination forms for each position. Presidential aspirants are required to pay ₦30 million for the expression of interest form and ₦70 million for the nomination form, totalling ₦100 million.
Governorship aspirants will pay ₦10 million for expression of interest and ₦40 million for nomination, amounting to ₦50 million. Senate aspirants will pay ₦3 million and ₦17 million respectively, totalling ₦20 million, while House of Representatives aspirants will pay a combined ₦10 million. Aspirants seeking seats in the State House of Assembly will pay ₦1 million for expression of interest and ₦5 million for nomination, totalling ₦6 million.
The party also announced concessions for certain groups. Female aspirants, youths, and persons living with disabilities will pay for the expression of interest form and only 50 percent of the prescribed nomination fee for their chosen position.
Speaking on the timetable, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the schedule was released in line with constitutional and electoral guidelines, including the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the Electoral Act 2026, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) revised timetable for the 2027 general elections.
Morka stated that the timetable covers key processes such as screening, appeals, primaries, and the sale of forms, adding that the party remains committed to credible and transparent primaries.
He reassured members and Nigerians that the APC is determined to strengthen internal democracy and uphold its progressive ideals as preparations for the 2027 general elections officially commence.
